Hey friends! We are continuing to celebrate National Nutritional month! So what are we doing to stay healthy? Antonio and I make a point to eat nutritional food everyday and try to set this example for our girls. I know that everyone has a busy schedule that may not allow time to make your own healthy meals, but I know that we can definitely find a way to make healthy choices wherever we go.
We are going to be checking out different local restaurants this month, they will include places that you may not think that you could find something healthy on the menu, but we are going to find SOMETHING that can be nutritional. A lot of you only have time to hit up a fast food place, or maybe you are constantly having meetings at restaurants, we want to help and we would like to get your input as well. If you are fortunate enough to be able to cook your own healthy meals, please send us a picture and a description of what it is. If you have a favorite healthy dish at any restaurant, please share. We will draw a winner from those who submit and we will announce our winner on Good Day SA on April 17th! It's not too late to submit yours! The winner will win dinner for two at Tre Trattoria and a night stay for two at the Fairmont Downtown. Let’s make March a healthy start to our fit lives! Remember to also add color to your food, like green veggies, red peppers, orange carrots…. You get it! To enter our contest, email us, Facebook us, and Tweet us how you make healthy food choices when eating out or making dinner for your families, along with tips and tricks to staying fit! Living a Healthy life is a happy life! Sonia and Antonio www.danielsfamilyfoundation.com

How much do you truly appreciate your significant other? Today in boxing class, I had an enlightening conversation. My wife (Sonia) could see I was annoyed and somewhat bothered. She looked at me, motioned with her boxing glove and said "smile babe". The man on the heavy bag next to me saw this and became emotional. After class he shared with me that he was going through a separation from his wife...."I would love if my wife would encourage me like that". As he cried and shared his emotional testimony with me, I became more appreciative of the small yet powerful gesture from my wife. I related to his pain, because Sonia and I went through our own season of tears and hurt. I shared with him the importance of self accountability, reflection, and the true power of prayer. I truly appreciate my wife, all she is and does. We may overlook the "small" things... but when we lose sight we must rely on God, to open our eyes to see what is truly important in life and the love that surrounds us. Sometimes all we need is a sweet reminder from our spouses, with all the "small things" they say and do that can change our day. Thank you Lord for the emotional awakening and appreciation.
