How often as a parent do you give your children advice that could be directed at you?
Yesterday, I was teaching our daughter Jada about appreciation and what it means. I explained to her how we ought to appreciate our blessed life, our family, health and our parents. As I walked away conviction filled my heart. As a man, husband, father and child of God, do I practice appreciation to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ like I should? Do I give him the time he deserves? Do I appreciate the giver as much as the gift? Am I a walking testimony of true appreciation to God, my wife and children?
"Change a man and you will change his family..." I have witnessed this first hand in our household. Not only has God transformed me, but he has transformed my wife, our marriage, our children and our future. As I was teaching Jada that she needs to appreciate what she's been blessed with... God was giving his son Antonio the same lesson. I can't just tell him, or pray how much I truly APPRECIATE his grace, forgiveness, mercy and love. I must continue to grow and show. Lesson learned Father.

Reading this has completely open my eye's. I have had so much resentment and have stopped attending church. I do pray daily, but not gone to mass. While reading your letter made me realize that I need to let go of any resentments I may have and leave it Gods hands. You are right, it will make me a better person and change the events that may surround me.
