![]() What does Easter mean to me? At Easter time we get together with our family, we eat and have a lot of delicious food and deserts. We have Easter baskets for our girls full of chocolate bunnies, candy filled eggs, and fun treats and goodies. We crack cascarones, we have an egg hunt and we create fun lasting memories. BUT what Easter means to me is so much more than just the activities, the family fun, etc. What Easter means to me is the celebration of the Amazing Love of God. God sent his only son Jesus to come to Earth and die for our sins. Why would he send his only son for me? After all the mistakes and failures I have made. He sent his son to die in my place and in your place, because He loves us that much! Jesus was the perfect lamb that was slain for the redemption of our sins. He was tortured, mocked, whipped and beaten beyond recognition and nailed to a cross. He was pierced on his side. And still after all the suffering and torture, He prayed, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do". He could have easily come down off that cross, or called the whole thing off, but He loved us that much that he died for us. Death could not hold him in the grave and three days later Jesus was resurrected. He is alive and sitting at the right hand of the Father. Because He lives, we live. Whoever believes that Jesus rose from the dead and accepts Him into their heart, they too will live with Him in eternity. When I celebrate Easter, I celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of God. I think of God's amazing love and grace and I believe that I am forgiven. Jesus is the way the truth and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by Him. Jesus is why I celebrate Easter. There has never been a greater love story than this. I am grateful for Jesus and I celebrate His love for me and his power. HE has RISEN! John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Happy Easter! Sonia Daniels FAITH, Family, Fitness

![]() TODAY IS WORLD HEALTH DAY. The theme this year is Vector-borne diseases. Vectors such as mosquitoes, sandflies, ticks, bugs are responsible for transmitting parasites that can cause many illnesses and diseases. We can take simple steps that can help protect us. Wearing long sleeves, trousers and using insect propellant can be a great start. The more we are aware, the better we can protect ourselves and our families. -Sonia Daniels ![]() "Bad company corrupts good character." - 1 Corinthians 15:33 As a parent we must be watchful and particular about the friends our children keep. If you notice that your child or young teen is picking up bad habits, look to the source of it. Now, on this note, maybe WE are the source of their bad habits! What example do we put out for our children? Do we curse? Do we hate others who are not like us? (Racism) Are we negative about everything? Are we lazy and unmotivated? Are we judgmental or always making excuses for what we do wrong? If so, guess what kind of kids we are raising.... Kids who curse and disrespect teachers and others. Kids who bully others. Kids who are down on themselves, lazy, unmotivated, negative, full of excuses! We need to be the best example for our children! How can we expect more of them when giving them less of us? Parents have the biggest responsibility. Our kids will reflect what they see... what are you showing your child? Sonia Daniels Speaker. Writer. Daniels Family Foundation |
